Hi. I'm here to talk to you about the importance of praise, admiration and thank you, and having it be specific and genuine.
And the way I got interested in this was, I noticed in myself, when I was growing up, and until about a few years ago, that I would want to say thank you to someone, I would want to praise them, I would want to take in their praise of me and I'd just stop it. And I asked myself, why? I felt shy, I felt embarrassed. And then my question became, am I the only one who does this? So, I decided to investigate.。.。
Good afternoon,ladies and gentlemen,
I’m Wang from Class*Grade*.It’s my pleasure to stand here today to talk about my school—Dalian No.9 Middle school.
Two years ago, when I first stepped into No.9 Middle school,I immediately fell in love with it. It is a beautiful school. The buildings are new and the walls are covered with wild roses that dazzle theeyes in the bee-humming air. I’ve thought of it often. How the grass turns green in the springtime, and how the mocking birds flutter their tails and sing, how the moon shines down on the building, how the Cuckoo Waltz rings out the precious short-lived hours, how the teenagers in bright summer dresses promenade the grassy lawn.
During these two years,my teachers have given me unconditional support, and have given their words of encouragement in good times and their words of consolation in difficult moments. They have always given me alittle more than I asked for and instilled in me the values and principles that govern my life now. It’s the teachers’ instruction here that tells me the art of living is to know when to hold fast and when to let go.The rabbis of old put it this way “A man comes to the world with his fist clenched, but when he dies, his hand is open.” I’ve learned a lot from my classmates and friends,we have overcomed many difficulties. They have always been optimistic and humorous. When my feet hurt, they all cared about me and some of them offered to help me up and down stairs. We play together,we learn together and we grow up together. It’s the help between our classmates that tells me how to love my life. However mean life is ,meet it and live it.It’s the school motto that tells me to improve myself, seek truth and develop innovations.
I love my school because of all this, besides, there is something more than I can say.
To end my speech ,let’s all give our best wishes to thefurther development of our campus! Thank you.

Failure is what often happens.it is everywhere in your life.students may fail in exams, science may fail in their researchwork, and athletes may fail in competitions.
Although failure happens to everyone, attitudes towards failure are various. some people don't think their failure is a very important thing at all. so they pay no attention to it. as a result, they will have the same failure a previously later.they spend their thime and energy on useless things and they may really be fools as they have thought.
Mother’s Day is an important festival in America and Europe. It has alreadyspread to China. And it is on the second Sunday in May. Children of all agesgive their mothers cards, flowers and presents on that day to show they lovetheir mothers. In the morning, they let them have a good rest, that is to say, they let their mothers sleep later. And they do all the housework. They cookbreakfast for the mum, when the meal is ready, they carry it to the mum'sbedroom. So mum can have breakfast in bed.
Mothers should have a good rest on Mothers' Day.
Snow
Have you ever seen where the first snowflake fall? Is it on the country road, on the branch of an old oak tree, on the wheat fields in the plain, or between the peaks of the mountain range?
See the snowflakes leaping, dancing like flowers in the whirling wind. The flowers have six angles.Sometimes they are like stars. Sometimes they are only white dots, and they keep on falling gently in silence.
Without your knowing it, the fields, houses, trees and the whole earth are enveloped in a thin coat of snow. I love snow, because it is saintly pure.
Winter differs from the other seasons in that it is not as warm as spring, neither as hot as summer, nor as sad as autumn. The snowflake has her own grace and inspiration. It seems tender, yet it is amazingly attractive.
1.We are drowning in news. Reuters alone puts out three-and-a-half million news stories a year. That's just one source.
My question is: How many of those stories are actually going to matter in the long run? That's the idea behind The Long News. It's a project by The Long Now Foundation, which was founded by TED stars including Kevin Kelly and Stewart Brand. And what we're looking for is news stories that might still matter 50 or 100 or 10,000 years from now. And when you look at the news through that filter, a lot falls by the wayside.
2.Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you, General Caslen, for that introduction. General Trainor, General Clarke, faculty and staff at West Point, you have been outstanding stewards of this proud institution and outstanding mentors for the newest officers in the United States Army.
I’d like to acknowledge the Army’s leadership -- General McHugh -- Secretary McHugh, General Odierno, as well as Senator Jack Reed who is here and a proud graduate of West Point himself. To the class of 20xx, I congratulate you on taking your place on the Long Gray Line.
3.I love trees, and I'm very lucky, because we live near a wonderful arboretum, and Sundays, usually, I'd go there with my wife and now, with my four-year-old, and we'd climb in the trees, we'd play hide and seek. The second school I was at had big trees too, had a fantastic tulip tree, I think it was the biggest in the country, and it also had a lot of wonderful bushes and vegetation around it, around the playing fields.

These five great ways to open a speech will make you stand out from the bunch(下面的演讲开场白会让你在演讲中脱颖而出):
演讲
1、"Doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners." Did that get your attention? I sure hope so! Begin by startling your audience.
2、"Once upon a time..." Tell a story. Everyone loves a good story, especially if it is one that people don't expect, and one that is told exceptionally well. Begin with a story that is related to the topic; don't tell a story just for the sake of it.
3、"Please raise your hand if you..." Get them to participate immediately, The idea is to get the audience moving and doing something very quickly. Your worst enemy is stillness. So get them moving as often and as early as possible.
4、"Remember the last time you..." Establish contact early. Your goal is to get the audience to think of themselves and to feel something related to your topic. Then, you can build on it. Make sure it is an experience most people have shared.
5、"......................" Silence is golden. Before uttering a single word, wait a few seconds. Stand in silence in front of the audience, for five or ten seconds if you can stand it. Then start with a bang.
Here are five ways to begin a speech in an unusual, yet captivating manner(下面这五种开场白可以使得你的演讲有种一种不寻常,但是很吸引人的方式):
1、"To speak for your ears, I have overcome fears, To silence your groans, My skills I have honed." Start with a poem or a rhyme. Pick a poem that is short, lively, and related to your theme or your message.
2、Start your speech with a song. Ideally, you want to sing on key. But if you cannot hold a tune, think of it as a great start to a humorous speech!
3、Use an audio entrance. Pre-record the first lines of your speech to set the tone. Take care, though, that your recording sounds professional and not tinny, otherwise you will get a negative effect.
4、Blow up a balloon. Or do something equally unexpected. Catch the audience off guard. Make sure nobody is drinking hot liquid when you do this.
5、Perform a magic trick. There are many easy magic tricks you can find online. Take the audience by surprise and make it entertaining from the start.
The two most important parts of a speech are the introduction and the conclusion. The introduction sets the tone for your speech, while the conclusion determines how the audience will feel when they leave. Don't set yourself up for failure from the start: drop these awful openings from your repertoire. Instead, replace them with an opening that sets you apart and readies you to deliver a great speech.
Today I come to Oslo as a trustee, inspired and with renewed dedication to humanity; I accept this prize on behalf of all men who loved peace and brotherhood. I say I come as a trustee, for in the depths of my heart I am aware that this prize is much more than an honor to me personally.
1. The following are my opinions, and do not reflect the opinions or policies of any particular prosecutor's office.
I am a prosecutor. I believe in law and order. I am the adopted son of a police officer, a Marine and a hairdresser. I believe in accountability and that we should all be safe in our communities. I love my job and the people that do it. I just think that it's our responsibility to do it better...
2. We are losing our listening. We spend roughly 60 percent of our communication time listening, but we're not very good at it. We retain just 25 percent of what we hear. Now -- not you, not this talk, but that is generally true.
Let's define listening as making meaning from sound. It's a mental process, and it's a process of extraction...
3. There are things we say when we catch the eye of a stranger or a neighbor walking by. We say, "Hello, how are you? It's a beautiful day. How do you feel?" These sound kind of meaningless, right? And, in some ways, they are. They have no semantic meaning. It doesn't matter how you are or what the day is like. They have something else. They have social meaning. What we mean when we say those things is: I see you there...
welome to all of you! as well as the judges, a big welcome to the audience, wish you have a good time and enjoy t of all,i would like to express my deep appreciation to the organizing committee giving this opportunity for me here possible, then i am also greatly honor to introduce my tutor, professor dingfang. professor ding comes from the education department of soochow main research interests are in children’s cognitive and social development. the level of childrens cognitive development is the basis of their social development. in contrast, childrens social development contributes to their cognitive development. in a word, both between is complementary relationship. so lets welcome professor ding to give our detailed introduction about main contents in this field and her main research achievements. thank you very the meeting goes well.

Do you see the glass as half-full rather than all empty? The two differentanswers to this question represent two different attitudes towards life --optimistic attitude and pessimistic attitude.
Optimism always leads to happiness, health and success while pessimism, bycontrast, results in hopelessness, sickness and failure. That's becauseoptimists and pessimists deal with the same challenges and disappointments invery different ways. When things go wrong, the pessimist tends to blame himself, while the optimist looks for loop holes. The optimist feels in control of hisoverall life. If things are going badly, he acts quickly, looking for solutions, forming a new plan of action, and seeking for advice. On the contrary, thepessimist yields to the arrangement of fate and moves slowly. He doesn't seekadvice, since he assumes nothing can be done.
Most people are a mix of optimism and pessimism. Optimism is important inall aspects of our lives. If you can change your mind from pessimism tooptimism, you can change your life.

a hundred years ago today a man died. he died immortal. he departed laden with years, laden with works, laden with the most illustrious and the most fearful or responsibilities, the responsibility of the human conscience informed and rectifies. he went cursed and blessed, cursed by the past, blessed by the future; and these are two super forms of glory. on the deathbed he had, on the one hand, the acclaim of contemporaries and of posterity; on the other, that triumph of hooting and of hating which the implacable past bestows on those who have combated it. he was more than a man was; he was an age. he had exercised functions and fulfilled a mission. he had been evidently chosen for the work, which he had done by the supreme will, which manifests itself as visibly in the laws of destiny as in the laws of nature.
the eighty-four years, which this man lived, span the interval between the monarchy at its apogee and the revolution at its dawn. whence was born, luis xiv still reigned; when he died, louis of xvi already wore crown; so that his cradle saw the last rays of the great throne, and his coffin the first gleams from the great abyss.

Mr. Chairman, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, I should like first of all, to once again thank the Norwegian Nobel Committee for the award they have made to the United Nations Peace-Keeping Operations. Their decision has been acclaimed all over the world. I take this opportunity also to express once again my deep gratitude to the countries, which have contributed troops or provided logisti[点题式英语演讲开场欣赏(共2篇)]cal support to these operations. It is to their willing co-operation that we owe the success of this great experiment in conflict control. Peace─the word evokes the simplest and most cherished dream of humanity. Peace is, and has always been, the ultimate human aspiration. And yet our history
overwhelmingly shows that while we speak incessantly of peace, our Aquinas tells a very different story. Peace is an easy word to say in any language. As Secretary-General of the United Nations I hear it so frequently from so many different mouths and different sources, that it sometimes seems to me to be general incantation more or less deprived of practical meaning. What we really mean by peace?
和平在任何语言中都是一个说起来很容易的词。作为联合国秘书长,我从不同的语言和不同的地方经常听到它,以至于有时在我看来,和平这个词多多少少是失去了其真实意义的。口头禅。我们所说的和平的真正含义是什么? As clothes, food, shelter and travel are the four elements for life;
we can not live without one of them. So is the case with other living things. Maybe other living things can live without one of them, but they are not particular about that much. Bacterium is very tiny living things, like a baby in them. What does the baby have to wear? What does the baby have to eat? Where does the baby live? How does the baby move? We would like to know about these.
To me, England is the country, and the country is England. And when I ask myself what I mean by England, when I think of England when I am abroad, England comes to me through my various senses─through the ear, through the eye, and through certain imperishable scents. I will tell you what they are, and there may be those among you who feel as I do.

My Family
Everyone has a family. We live in it and feel very warm. There are three persons in my family,my mother, father and I.We live together very happily and there are many interesting stories about my family.
My father is a hard-working man.He works as a barber.
My mother is a woman with a bad memory. She always does a lot of housework, but sometimes she makes mistakes out of carelessness. For example, one day,she washed clothes in the washer, after the washer finished the work, she found she hadn't filled the washer with water.
Now let me tell you a funny thing:one day, father wanted to get up early as usual, buthe wasn't able to do that, because he hadn't set the alarm clock the night before,so when he got up,he did everything in a hurry. After father left, mother said to me mysteriously,"He will come back soon." "Why?" I was greatly surprised."Because today is Sunday, his holiday!" Just as mother said, father came back home soon, and went to bed again--he was too tired.
You see, what an interesting family have!I hope that you will have one like mine, too.
To me, the present time is highly valued and easily lost in the world. Because of its easy loss, it is thought to be much more valuable.
Why is the present time most valuable? Now I'd better quote Yue Manson's words as the answer. He said; "If you love time, you'd better love the present time. The time passed will never come back to you again. Though you are not sure about the existence of tomorrow, you will be certain about it today and now. Today you will have the day, which will mean two days tomorrow."
Why is the present time easily lost? Because our universe is so vast. Because our universe turns without stopping. Because time is valuable people cherish it highly. You may ask me what you mean by the present time. What I mean is the time being now. But it passes as quick as a flash and becomes the past. What pity it is if I let it go neglectfully!
