The main character of the novel Crime and Punishment by Feodor Dostoevsky, Raskolnikov, is in reality two totally contradicting personalities. One part of him is the the intellectual. The confusion in Raskolnikov"s soul is best seen when he tries to help a girl in the street who has been raped and left to the whims of anyone who finds her. Raskolnikov tries to protect her from the evil of the street, then stops himself when he is revulsed by the wickedness of his society. Why did I take it upon myself to interfere? Was it for me to try to help? Let them eat one another alive - what is it to me? At one time Raskolnikov is both caring and concerned and yet he is able to push aside the whole affair by being totally indifferent. The goal of the novel is to make Raskolnikov into one character. Sonya helps bring Raskolnikov back into his emotional, humane side.
Through her suffering, she shows him that it is important to have a love for all humanity and that no person should ever be able to exist like a parasite off of another person. Porifery, the official investigating the crime, acts as the intellectual who shows Roskolnikov that all intellect must be used for the good of mankind.
During this semester, I‟ve read three English novels. The first one is The Wizard of Oz. Here is the my reading feelings of the story. The Scarecrow wanted some brains, but on the way to the Emerald City, he thought out a way to cross the river. The Cowardly Lion wanted to be brave, but when they met the river, he carried other friends to jump across it. And the Tin Man wanted a heart, he said he couldn‟t love, but he didn‟t want to hurt any animal. In fact, they all have the things they want: the Scarecrow is clever, the Cowardly Lion is brave and the Tin Man is kind-hearted. His book tells us a story of how a little girl Dorothy goes back to her hometown when she is in another strange city. Dorothy is a little girl who lived with her aunt and uncle in Kansas. The weather there is very bad, sometimes there was a cyclone. When a cyclone came, people stayed under their houses. But one day a cyclone blows Dorothy‟s house, with Dorothy and her dog Toto in it, to a country called Oz. In that city there are four witches and a very famous wizard—the Wizard of Oz. And Dorothy‟s house just fell on the bad Witch of the East and killed her, so the people there were very happy. Dorothy took the witch‟s red shoes and wore them. She wanted to go home to Kansas but she doesn‟t know how to get there. So the Witch of North told her to go to the Emerald City to find the Wizard of Oz to help her.
Then Dorothy met the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly
Lion, but they need help too. The Scarecrow wanted some brains, the Tin Man wanted a heard, and the Cowardly Lion wanted to be brave. So they all take the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. On the way to the Emerald City they met some difficulties, but they solved them successfully. After they met the Wizard of Oz, the wizard gave them another challenge—to kill the bad Witch of the West and they accept. During the way to the Witch of the West‟s house, they were caught by the witch and Dorothy was requested to work for her. One day, when the witch tried to catch Dorothy‟s red shoes, Dorothy threw some water on the witch by accident and the Witch of the West disappeared. Only water can kill her. So Dorothy went back to the Emerald City with her friends but they found the Wizard of Oz is not a real wizard, he is also a man came from Kansas, and he is just a conjurer. He wanted to go back to Kansas too. So he made a big balloon and prepared to go. But when the balloon is going to raise, Dorothy‟s dog Toto jumped away to run after a cat, so Dorothy had to get Toto back and they were left in Oz.
Then Dorothy and Toto went and find the Witch of the South and the witch told them they can just use the red shoes on Dorothy‟s feet, they‟re a pair of magic shoes, they could take anybody go back to their home as soon as she said„East, west—home is the best!‟After Dorothy said goodbye to her friends, she went back to her new home with her dog. It‟s really a wonderful risk. Yes, no matter where we are, home is always the
best place for us to rest or study. There are our parents here; there are also our favorite things here. At home, we feel safe, we feel comfortable, and we can relax ourselves. From this story, we can see Dorothy is a brave and kind-hearted girl. She killed the two bad witches in Oz; she helped the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion to go to the Emerald City to find the Wizard and get what they want. She solved problems when they met difficulties. It‟s really not easy for such a little girl. We also learn that teamwork is important for us. When we are in trouble, we can ask our friends for help, and also, when our friends need help, we should go and help them. Just remember, more people, more power. It‟s always better has more people to do a thing. Teamwork is really necessary in our lives. And we can see the Scarecrow is absolutely cleaver, he understands things, he can think, he learn quickly, and he suggested Dorothy to cut down a tree to cross the river. The tin man has a kind heart, he laughs, he cries, he loves, he feels sorry for people. The Cowardly Lion is really brave, he did a lot of brave things, he carried the friends to go across the river, and he wanted to find some food for his friends and so on. We should learn from them too. When we are in trouble, we should calm down, watch the things around carefully, and try to think out of a way to solve it, just like the Scarecrow. We also should be brave as we are in danger, we can‟t be afraid, we should face the difficulty and try to go through it, just like the Cowardly Lion. And we should learn to love
people, to feel sorry for people, to make more friends, to get on well with everyone around us, just like the Tin Man. Yes, we should learn how to get on with other people, we should help each other, we should be brave, we should love other people. Only love can make everything come true!

The Spring Festival holiday, I read books in the Robinson Crusoe . I was deeply attracted to this book, it lets me realize Robinson"s amazing perseverance and never yield in spite of reverses the spirit.
Robinson is the hero of this book. In a navigation, Robinson riding in a boat ran aground near the island, the ship seaman and passengers were all drowned, only one Robinson was lucky to survive. His perseverance, struggle with nature. He relies on his own hands and wisdom, the use of guns and simple tools, rely through one"s own efforts, support oneself to had played a desolate island life.
After reading this book, I was deeply moved by the. “Hills Like White Elephants”,one of Hemingway’s terrific works,is a story that happens at a train station in the Ebro River valley of Spain.An American and his girlfriendare drinking beers and having a conversation when they are waiting for the train.In the dialogue,the young man’s attempt of convincing the girl Jig to take an operation has caused a lot of arguments.Though they are not explicit about what this operation really is,I consider this operation an abortion.
The conversation between them suggests that they are talking about an abortion.In the text,the man says it is an awfully simple operation and “it is just to let the air in” (Hemingway,373).“To let the air in” is a process of vacuum aspiration in America in the 1920s,whichis commonly used as a method of induced abortion.What is more,in their argument,Jig says,“Once they take it away,you never get it back”(Hemingway,374).The man also makes it clear that he does not want anyone else but her.And this statement indicates a third person is involved.What could be the thing taken away in an operation that you may still want it back?Whocould come to get in their life if the girl does not take the operation?All wecan come up with is a baby.The man does not want a baby before they settle down,before he is ready to take the responsibility of raising a family.And Jig is still struggling about whether to take this operation or not in their debates.So this is an operation to take the unexpected baby away---abortion.
Sceneries between the two lines of the rails are also indications of their two different choices in one side,there is no shade and no trees but only barren land stretching toward the the other side,the land is covered with green,fertile fields and river.Barren is used to describe a woman who is unable to produce children while fertile represents female’s capability of producing babies.If Jig agrees to take the operation,then the baby will no longer exist and thus making her barren.But if she chooses not to,then she will be consider as a fertile woman who is able to produce babies.That is to say the two totallyoppositeviews symbolize their dilemma of the pregnancy --- infertile or fecund,undergo the abortion or not.
The title of this story itself is a metaphor implying this is an abortion.White elephant denotes something thatis completely burdensome,although it may be precious enough.And here in this text,the white elephant is the symbol of a baby-valuable but troublesome.There is no doubt that the baby is a treasure.But the fact is that they are a young couple traveling around the world without a place to settle down.They have neither enough time nor energy to take care of a baby.Even if they don’t have to worry about those material conditions,they are not psychologically ready yet.Problems like “requirements of being qualified parents” has never occurred in their minds.Based on both physical and psychology circumstances of the young couple,we can see that the baby is precious but also a burden.Hence the white elephant here is an intimation of an abortion.
The phrase “to let the air in” makes it quite clear that this is an abortion.And during their debates,we can get to know someone is involved in this young couple and the American is trying to get awayfromthis third person by requesting Jig to take the operation.Furthermore,the two different landscapes on the two sides of the rails is also foreshadowing us theoutcome of Jig’s choice.Take it,she is ,fertile.And the white elephantbecomes emblematic of a baby that could be a sweet burden in their life.This symbol strengthen the operation that has been talked about in the whole story is an abortion.With all these factors integrated together,we can conclude this is an abortion.

One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

the novel description is one year near sixty years of age senior fisherman,when alone goes to sea in one fishing,fished one big fish,actually did not pull.the senior fisherman socialized several days after the fish,only then discovered this was the big marlin which one surpaed the oneself fishing boat several fold,although knew perfectly well very difficult to win,but still did not give up.afterwards and further because in the big marlin wound fish fishy smell brought in several crowds of shark fish snatches the food,but the old person still did not hope like this to give up,finally highlighted encircles tightly,returned to the big fish belt the fishing port,lets other fishermen not admire already.

It seems to me that many readers’ English reading experience starts with Jane Eyer. I am of no exception. As we refer to the movie “Jane Eyer”，it is not surprising to find some differences because of its being filmized and retold in a new way,but the spirit of the novel remains----to be an independent person,both physically and mentally.
Jane Eyer was a born resister,whose parents went off when she was very young,and her aunt,the only relative she had,treated her as badly as a ragtag. Since Jane’s education in Lowwood Orphanage began,she didn’t get what she had been expecting——simply being regarded as a mon person,just the same as any other girl around. The suffers from being humiliated and devastated teach Jane to be persevering and prize dignity over anything else.As a reward of revolting the ruthleoppression,Jane got a chance to be a tutor in Thornfield Garden.
There she made the acquaintance of lovely Adele and that garden’s owner,Rochester,a man with warm heart despite a cold face outside. Jane expected to change the life from then on,but fate had decided otherwise: After Jane and Rochester fell in love with each other and got down to get marry,she unfortunately came to know in fact Rochester had got a legal wife,who seemed to be the shadow following Rochester and led to his moodineall the time ----Rochester was also a despairing person in need of salvation. Jane did want to give him a hand,however,she made up her mind to leave,because she didn’t want to betray her own principles,because she was Jane Eyer. The film has finally got a symbolist end: Jane inherited a large number of legacies and finally returned. After finding Rochester’s misfortune brought by his original mad wife,Jane chose to stay with him forever.
I don’t know what others feel,but frankly speaking,I would rather regard the section that Jane began her teaching job in Thornfield as the film’s end----especially when I heard Jane’s words “Never in my life have I been awaken so happily.” For one thing,this ideal and brand-new beginning of life was what Jane had been imagining for long as a suffering person; for another,this should be what the audiences with my views hoped her to get. But the professional judgment of producing films reminded me to wait for a totally different result: There must be something wrong ing with the excellence----perhaps not only should another section be added to enrich the story,but also we may see from the next transition of Jane’s life that “Life is like a box of chocolates,you never know what you would get.” （By Forrest Gump’s mother,in the film “Forrest Gump”）
What’s more,this film didn’t end when Jane left Thornfield. For Jane Eyer herself,there should always be somewhere to realize her great ideal of being independent considering her fortitude,but for Rochester,how he can get salvation? The film gives the answer tentatively: Jane eventually got back to Rochester. In fact,when Jane met Rochester for the first time,she scared his horse and made his heel strained,to a certain extent,which meant Rochester would get retrieval because of Jane. We can consider Rochester’s experiences as that of religion meaning.
The fire by his frantic wife was the punishment for the cynicism early in his life. After it,Rochester got the mercy of the God and the love of the woman whom he loved. Here we can say: human nature and divinity get united perfectly in order to let such a story accord with the requirements of both two sides. The value of this film may be due to its efforts to explore a new way for the development of humanism under the faith of religion.
The hero of this book is a little prince from an outer planet. The book tells of the little princes journey from his planet to the earth.
The Little Prince visited 6 planets. The complexity of the human world and the cruelty of the real life were the satisfaction of the little prince who could not get his questions. He felt melancholy and even mournful weeping. Later, the little prince knew little fox and became a good friend with fox. Little fox also gave his secret and "naked eye" the essence of things, only the heart can see everything as a gift to the little prince.

第三． 重视教学情境的创设。课标强调学习过程，重视语言学习的实践性和应用性。在平时的教学中，应尽量为学生创设真实的情境，为学生提供运用语言的机会，鼓励学生通过体验实践、探究合作等方式逐步掌握语言知识和技能，调整情感态度，形成有效的学习策略，发展自主学习的能力。
第四． 对学生的评价方式应该多样化。应该采取形成性评价与终结性评价相结合的方法。形成性评价要及时对学生的学习情况进行反馈，促进学生调整学习态度和方法等，提高学习效果。终结性评价要注重考查学生听说读写各方面的能力水平。
第五． 加强对学生学习策略的指导。争取让学生在义务教育阶段就逐步形成良好的学习策略和方法，这对于他们日后进一步的学习和自学都有很大的帮助。
